New passenger shelters at stops. In recent years and decades, the capital has arranged the installation of passenger shelters, but for some reason not all of them have reached all stops. More and more people resented this from residents, so the Hegyvidék Municipality took matters into its own hands: it recently placed waiting areas at twenty-five locations.

The chairlift restarts. After the test runs following the extraordinary maintenance, the Zugliget Chairlift is expected to await hikers again on Saturday, April 27 from 10 a.m. The elevator will continue to operate on Monday, April 29 instead of the scheduled maintenance.

Support for tree pest control. Horse chestnut trees, sycamore and oak trees can be pest controlled at discounted prices with the support of the Hegyvidék Municipality. The district covers 50% of the costs of treatment, so residents only have to pay HUF 19,500 for wood injection and only HUF 8,255 per tree for spraying for two occasions. You can apply on the eugyintezes.hegyvidek.hu/kartevo site with an identified Hegyvidék Account until 4 p.m. on May 3. For more information, call 06-70/938-8474 or contact zoldpont@hegyvidek.hu.

Soundtracks and instrumental music. On Saturday afternoon, May 4, the MOM Cultural Centre (18 Csörsz St.) will give space to film music fans: from 3 p.m. pianist Nicholas Horvath will dazzle the audience with stunning pieces by Studio Ghibli and Hayao Miyazaki, and from 7 p.m. pianist Delphine Pillich will fascinate the audience with magical music from Harry Potter films. On Sunday, May 5, from 4 p.m., young musicians of the Weiner Brass Quintet, playing trumpet, horn, trombone and tuba, will hold a free instrument launch concert in Barabás Villa (44 Városmajor Street).

Dance to the works of Kodály. On the occasion of World Dance Day, on Monday, April 29, from 7 p.m., the company of the Győr Ballet will perform at MOMkult (18 Csörsz St.). The choreography titled Romance pays tribute to the work of world-famous Hungarian composer and musicologist Zoltán Kodály.

Several of these, such as the Makovecz funeral home of the Farkasréti Cemetery, are located in district XII. For more information, see budapest100.hu/en.
